CCFC U7 Blue 2-1 Stanwix 13/12
City Started brightly after a long layoff due to the torrential weather we have been experiencing. City’s hard training has paid off the boys were passing well and creating space for each other. Aidan Story, Luke Griffiths, James Dewhirst and Lewis Reay all hand strong performances keeping Stanwix at bay.
Luis De-Castro and Lewis Hand were up front causing the Stanwix defence problems while Niall Abba, Michael Mckie and James Hale linked up well to put City up 1-0 from a well taken goal from James Hale, to take us into half time.
Stanwix battled hard with the goal keeper making some tremendous saves, but Lewis Hand put City up 2-1 from a fantastic well taken individual goal. Stanwix came back into the game and put City on the back foot for the last five minutes, but City managed to hold out for a well deserved victory.
Man Of The Match – Aidan Story
Crown Newlaithes 2-1 Carlisle City Blue
Carlisle City Blue played tremendously well, in a hard fought game and were unlucky to be beaten 2-1. The hard training is starting to pay off as the whole team is working together and for each other, looking up and passing to one another.
Goal Keeper Lewis Reay was rarely called into action but when he was he did so confidently. Defending trio of Aidan story Luis De-Castro and Luke Griffiths all had solid performances.
Crown Newlaithes scored in the first period of play against the run of play with a well taken goal. Michael McKie played a wonderful ball through to Lewis hand that had a thunderous shot saved by the Crown Newlaithes Keeper.
Crown Newlaithes went 2-0 up at the beginning of the second period from a great strike. City’s midfield of Reece Reynolds, Niall Abba and James Dewhirst battled hard throughout the game. City’s Lewis Hand scored an opportunistic goal after confusion between Newlaithes defenders and keeper.
Throughout the third period City piled on the pressure and had plenty of goal scoring opportunities but were unable to put the ball into the back of the net, with a deserved equalizer.

Carlisle City FC U7’s Blue 0-5 Abbeytown FC
Carlisle City Blue played very well throughout the game, resolute defending from Luis De-Castro, Luke Griffiths and Aidan Story helped keep the score to 0-1 after the second period of play, Lewis Reay made some incredible saves to keep us in the game.
James Hale played a wonderful ball through in the first period of play to Lewis Hand to put him through one on one with the Abbeytown keeper who made a miraculous save. City’s midfield trio, Reece Reynolds, James Dewhirst and Michael Mckie worked tirelessly the whole game for the team covering every blade of grass on the pitch.
Niall Abba made a great tackle in the third period of play, then passed a great through ball splitting the Abbeytown defence putting Lewis Hand through once again, Ben Matty Abbeytowns man of the match made a great sliding tackle preventing a scoring opportunity.
City started to tire in the third period and Abbeytown scored four goals in quick succession with great passing and movement. Abbeytown were a well organised and drilled team.
