It was better news for the under 18s A, as they won 3-0 at Harraby Catholic Club with goals from Neil Jeffery 2 and Charlie Moore. Coach Matty Green reported that Matty Hetherington and Nathan Charnley were "rock-solid" at centre-back, with man of the match Charlie Moore having an excellent game up-front. Substitutes Conor Cowley, Dan Gawith and Jack Harris all made a big impact when they came on.

UNDER 18s A BEAT NINE-MAN NORTHBANK
City’s under 18s A beat Northbank 5-3 yesterday in the 1st round of the Longhorn League cup, at the Sheepmount. City were 2-0 down midway through the first half following goals by Northbank strikers Perkins and Royo. The game had already shown fiery signs with Bellas and Newton booked for City, along with two Northbank players. A couple of minutes before half-time, a Northbank defender handled the ball on his goal-line and was dismissed, followed quickly by a colleague, who argued too strongly with referee Les Pattison. The penalty was converted by John Jeffrey.
The nine men defended valiantly for twenty minutes in the second half, before Charlie Moore headed the equaliser. Within minutes, Northbank regained the lead with an unstoppable Walker free-kick. However, Neil Jeffrey headed City level at 3-3, and then watched the Northbank keeper save twice at point-blank range. Just when the game looked poised for extra-time, Calvin Rowell turned on the edge of the box to score a fine goal. Neil Jeffrey then wrapped up the game with a run from the half-way line, as the Northbank keeper contested a corner in the opposing penalty box.
