POSTED 5th OCTOBER 2009 GILLFORD PARK 0-1 CITY A
This game was originally planned for Saturday but was postponed for 24 hours which turned out to be a great decision, instead of wind and rain we had sunshine .
City A had narrowly lost the two last games and were aware they were going to be in another tough encounter. This was proved to be the case and both sides had half chances to take the lead but great defending resulted in the half-time score being 0-0.
Mid way through the second half City opened the scoring with a great strike from Luke Kemp. Luke then should have been awarded a penalty when he was taken out by the defender just when he was about to shoot but it was not given.
A tense finish ensued with both teams going close but City edged it 0-1. City A's first clean sheet this season made it hard to pick a man of the match but for taking his goal well it was awarded to Luke Kemp.
Next game home to Warwick Wanderers Blue (Sunday 11th Oct 12KO)

POSTED 5th SEPTEMBER 2009
City A started well against Abbeytown this afternoon, forcing the Abbeytown keeper into 3 great early saves. However Abbeytown took the lead against the run of play in the 8th minute from a direct freekick which clipped the post and in. This shot proved to be Abbeytowns only attempt in a one sided affair.
City responded well and in the 10th minute Kane Steele equalized sidefooting home from a Luke Kemp cross. City then dominated the game passing and moving well. Luke Kemp, Kane Steele and Vincent Wong added to the City A score before halftime. (HT 4-1)
In the second half City continued with their impressive form and Ben Mackenzie added a fifth from the penalty spot. City A then added further goals by Joe Chandler, Harry Ewbank, Vincent Wong and Felix Read.
My thanks to Bryan Rosary for refereeing the match.
