U7s reports

Carlisle City U7 8 - 0 Carlisle Spartans
Carlisle City U7 continued their winning form this weekend, without playing particularly well.

They dominated the game from the start but missed a host of chances throughout the match. It wasn’t until the 11th minute of the first period that they eventually broke the deadlock, with Lewis Rooks scoring the first of his hatrick. From then the goals came and to their credit they continued pressing right to the final minute even though the shooting boots of most had been left at home.
Goal of the game came at the end of a fine five pass move, starting with the keeper through defence to midfield and a square ball across the edge of the box by Ben Thomson saw Lewis Rooks hit a first time shot into the roof of the net.
Special praise must go to Sam Davidson who was excellent in defence and did everything right that was asked of him.

City made it 2 quickly after when a through ball by Joe White sent Ellis Hamilton through to finish neatly.
Goals from Roan Steele, Ellis Hamilton Sam Davidson and Jaymi Irving in the second period took it to 6 nil with the final 10 minutes left. wth the industrious Rooks, behind a lot of the playmaking.
The last period saw Joe White complete a hatrick in style and Sam Davidson also completed his hatrick. Further goals by Ellis Hamilton and stunning goal by Jaymi Irving, sealed the win.

Carlisle City Blue 1 - 10 Carlisle City U7’s

An excellent match between the 2 City sides, where the score does not reflect game.

City Blues started the brighter and took a well deserved lead with a great run and finish by Lewis Hand. The first half was a tight affair with City carving open the Blues defence on a number of occasions but were foiled by stand in goalkeeper James Dewhurst. This gave the Blues confidence and they battled superbly but most of their attacks were foiled by Man Of The Match Joe White. After missing a few chances Mikey Stephenson kept up his fine display by sliding an inch perfect pass to Ben “Tommo” Thomson who finished well to make it 1 – 1 at half time. Jack Atkinson, Sam Davidson and Dominic Thompson deserve great credit as they played very well in their new positions.

The game was changed by the four second half substitutes, Jaymi Irving (3), Ellis Hamilton (3), Roan Steele (1) & Lewis Rooks (2), who put on a powerful display and demonstrated some great passing and crossing. The game was controlled by Joe White who was excellent. Blues to their credit battled on and showed great character right up until the final whistle. The game was played in a great manor by both teams.
 Scorers

Man Of The Match – Joe White – Marshalled the game from start to finish, fantastic performance.

Carlisle City U7 7 – 1 Abbeytown U7

Carlisle City dominated this game from the beginning. Up against a form team who hadn’t conceded in their previous games Mikey Stephenson and Jaymi Irving pressed the Abbeytown midfield and defence and after 3 minutes Mikey Stephenson scored with an unstoppable volley into the roof of the net. Stevenson scored again after some good play by Joe white and Ellis Hamilton.

Jaymi Irving ran the whole game from start to finish and it was no more than he deserved when he created and scored the third. Joe White made it 4 – nil with a sweetly stuck shot from the left.

The second half carried on the same, with the Abbeytown goal keeper in outstanding form, saving from Steele, Hamilton and Irving, before Ben Thompson finished off a cross from Joe White. A great run from Jaymi Irving from his own box resulted in a great cross and Ben Thomson finishing off and scoring his second. Abbeytown the put City under pressure from the resulting KO and a sweetly struck shot beat Alex Wright, who had demonstrated good handling for most of the game. Joe White made it 7 with an unstoppable shot from 15yards out on the left.

City were really pleased with this result against a good Abbeytown side.
