CC Red V Cotehill & Cumwhinton Crusaders

CC Red were disappointed last week to lose their 100% record to this fine Cotehill side

CC Red were fired up for this game from the off and started in fine form as they dominated it from the start Ryan Abba was in fine form and gave us a two goal lead early in the game with two great goals, Cotehill pulled a goal back when CC failed to clear away a corner.

CC continued to create a host of chances with some fine play from all players, Harry Atkinson was in fine form in defence along side Ryan Swailes, Cieran Keyes and Charlie Little who all displayed some great passing and movement. Oliver Reay played a great game scoring a great goal with his left foot despite being poorly all week. Ryan Abba completed his hat-trick with great goal to give us a lead of 4 - 1.

Aidan Haliburton played a great game in goals making some fine saves, he also made some great saves in the penalty shoot out at the end

Lewis Cartwright who worked hard throughout the game both in attack and helping out in defence was Man of the match - he showed great team spirit and well deserved the MOM trophy for the week.

CC Red v Cotehill & Cumwhinton Crusaders

This fixture was the first game CC Red had played in 6 weeks

The 6 weeks of not playing took its toll on the CC Red team as all players were not at their best despite some hard work, Ryan Swailes played a great through ball to Lewis Cartwright ,who seemed to have taken the ball too far wide , but struck the ball to score a great goal.

To Cotehill credit they came back from a goal down to score two great goals to take a half a time lead 2-1, Cotehill came out the stronger of the two sides in the second half Despite this Lewis Cartwright popped up to score his second of the game with another great goal to level the score at 2 -2, Cotehill came back to score a further two goals to make the final score 4 - 2.

All CC Reds players tried really hard in this fixture but they seem to have left their shooting boots at home apart from our man of the match display from Lewis Cartwright

CC Red 5 Abbeytown 0

CC Reds came into this game full of confidence after a great training session on Wednesday night where the main session was based on passing and working as a team.

CC Reds starting the game in fine form putting presure on the Abbeytown defence from the off, the passing and working together was fantastic throughout the game. Lewis Cartwright scored the first goal with a great volley from inside the area to give us a first half lead of 1 - 0

The second half started much the same as the first half putting Abbeytown under pressure at all times Charlie Little was first to pounce with a great strike when a scrappy ball came out of the goal line, Ryan Abba who was feeling unwell before the game gave a excellent display and was rewarded with great worked goal. Harry Atkinson, Cieran Keyes, and Ryan Swailes were all in fine form and all of them were in with a chance of man of the match.

However there was only going to be one person Man of the match today that was Oliver Reay he was outsatanding from the start working non stop tackling and helping out in midfield as and when needed. Oliver scored the goal of the game, a fantastic strike from 15 yards out right in the top corner that give a very good Abbeytown keeper no chance of saving WELL DONE OLLIE

Stanwix 0 CC Red 5 11/10/09

CC Reds had to dig deep for this game as they dominated it from the off but struggled in the first half to crack the Stanwix defence.Lewis Cartwright was in fine form working very hard and was rewarded when he got the first goal. Ryan Abba who partnerd Lewis up front got the second goal to take us into the second half with comfortable 2 -0 lead.

Oliver Reay who played in midfield for this game was kept busy all game and got a well deserved goal to make the score 3 - 0, Ryan Abba who was a constant threat got a further 2 goals to complete his hat-trick.

Ryan Swailes who was Man of the match worked tirelessly from start to finish, making some great tackles and runs forward and was very unlucky not to get on the score sheet as the Stanwix goalkeeper was in fine form making some great saves WELL DONE SWAILO.

Harry Atkinson, Cieran Keyes and Charlie little were a rock in defence keeping the stanwix strikers at bay with ease and giving Aidan Halliburton(goalkeeper) very little to do.

CC red 9 Morton Manor 0 30/09/09

CC Red were in fine form for this game and came out comfortable winners 9 - 0 over a very good Morton manor side who have had some great results this season.

There were some excellent goals scored Ryan Swailes 1, Cieran Keyes 1, Lewis Cartwright 1 Oliver Reay scored his first hat-trick of the season with some great goals and great positional play, Ryan Abba also scored a hat-trick which takes his season's tally to a very impressive 10 goals so far.

Ryan Swailes was man of the match for this game. his work rate was exceptional with some great defensive play along with some great tackles, and fantastic forward runs, he was rewarded for his efforts with a very well deserved goal WELL DONE SWAILO

Aidan Halliburton who has been in fine form all season made some fine saves to keep a well deserved clean sheet

Harraby Catholic 1 CC Red 2 26/09/2009

CC Reds were full of confidence going into this fixture having won their opening two fixtures without conceding a goal.

Harraby proved to be very difficult opposition who put up great fight against an in form CC Red team who came out 2 - 1 winners on the day. 1 goal from Ryan Abba and 1 goal from Charlie Little was enough to seal the victory.

All players played a vital part in this fixture and played very well working together as a team when Harraby were attacking.; The man of the match was Cieran Keyes who was outstanding for the whole game, he made some great tackles at some very important points during the game and also some great runs forward WELL DONE KEYESY______________________________________________________________________________________________________

CC Reds 9 CC Whites 0 19/09/09

This game was one to look forward to as both teams go to the same school, and are all good friends.

Its fair to say that CC white put up a good performance with some great defending and team work against a CC Red team that dominated the game from the start. There were some great goals from all scorers Harry Atkinson 2, Lewis Cartwright 1, Ciaran Keyes 1, Oliver Reay 1.

Ryan Abba who was man of the match worked very hard through the game making some great runs down the line and some very good tackles and was rewarded for his hard work with 4 fantastic goals WELL DONE ABBA

There was also a good performance From our captain Charlie Little who worked hard all game and was unlucky not to get himself on the score sheet, Ryan Swailes was in fine form tracking down every loose ball and making some great runs forward and some fine passing, Aiden Haliburton (goalkeeper) came out of goal for the last ten minutes of the game and was kept busy defending and also helping a hand out as striker where he was unlucky not to score.

Dalston V Carlisle City Red 03/09/09

It seemed like the season could come not quick enough for all concerned at CC Reds including parents, so we were all very pleased with the way all the kids played, each and everyone played a very inportant part in this fixture as they played very well and all worked together as a team.

2 goals from Ryan Abba & 2 Goals from Oliver Reay gave us what would look like a comfortable win, however if it was not for our man of the match display from our star defender Harry Atkinson things could have been a bit closer, Harry was outstanding in this game as his work rate and tackles were fantastic, He made some very important tackles and some great runs in attack WELL DONE HARRY
