GOOD DAY OUT FOR CITY UNDER 7s
City's under 7s squad, along with coach Warren Steele, were invited to Brunton Park on Saturday to watch the game between Carlisle United and Brentford.
Warren reported that everyone had a great day and were treated well by the staff at Brunton Park. Sadly, the result for Carlisle was not great, as they lost 3-1 to their newly-promoted opponents. However, the result did not seem to spoil the day too much.

Carlisle City U7 5 - 0 Edenvale
City U7 were not at their best this week but still managed to come out with a comfortable victory.
City must have left their shooting boots at home after missing a host of chances in the game and the Edvenvale keeper proving hard to beat.
Citty took the lead through Ben Thomson from close range after a good run and cross from Ellis Hamilton. Joe White who dominated the game attacked at pace down the left giving the Edenvale players a torrid time and it was his cross which was turned in by Lewis Rooks that finally put City in the driving seat.
In the second half Edenvale pressed for a goal and brought two good saves from Dominic Thompson. A good far post volley by Rooks made it 3 then a Joe white corner to the edge of the box was thumped in by Roan Steele. With a couple of minutes left a great 5 man passing move was finished off by Mikey Stephenson.
Well done to both teams.
Man Of Match - Joe White - Excellent wing play and passing.
Goals - B Thomson, E Hamilton, R Steele & L Rooks (2)
Abbeytown 0 -9 Carlisle City U7
Carlisle City continued their winning form with a good win at Abbeytown (played Wigton Infants). On a very tight pitch City played well, getting the ball into wide areas. Roan Steele and Jaymi Irving were in great form displaying good passing and tackling in midfield. 2 new strikers up front in Sam Davidson and Ben Thomson, saw them both on the team sheet in a very good display. Sam Davidson producing a hat-trick.
A special mention and well deserved must go to the Abbeytown keeper who in my opinion was outstanding. His kicking and handling were excellent from a 6-7 year old.
Joe White can count himself unlucky in a great individual performance after hitting the post 3 times.
Scorers - Davidson 3, Irving 2, Thomson 1, Steele 1, Rooks 1, Hamilton 1
Man Of Match - Ben Thomson - His best display of the season.
Carlisle City U7 5 - 1 Cotehill
Carlisle City met a Cotehill side who have produced some good results this season and after a couple of minutes you could see why. A very physical side with comitment, they kept City out for 10 minutes and broke away at pace testing the City defence of Steele and White, however they met them in top form. Steele especially won everything at the back and broke play up and coutered with surging runs down both flanks helping the midfied of Irving hamilton and Rooks keep up the pressure. After 11 mins, Mikey Stephenson controlled a Hamilton cross and used his strength to steer the bal into the net.
he second hallf started the same way however a mistake on a City corner allowed Cotehill to counter and a cool finish from the forward brought it to 1-1 after City had over comitted. This brought City to life and goals from Hamilton Thomson White and Rooks put the game out of reach. I must congratulate the City team for their attitude in this physical encounter, stuck to what they do best.
Scorers - Stephenson, Hamilton, Rooks, Thomson and White
Man Of The Match - Roan Steele - 5 Star performance - In control for 30 mins.
Carlisle City U7 9 – 0 Carlisle City U7 Blue- Report from coach Warren Steele
"The first game for both sides in 7 weeks saw City U7 a bit sharper than their counterparts this weekend.
City started quickly and were 2 nil up in the first 2 minutes with some quick direct football. This set the tone for the rest of the game with City forwards Ellis Hamilton and Mikey Stephenson always looking threatening. Blue looking a bit rusty, to their credit, defended well all game with keeper Lewis Reay making 3 or four great saves from Ben Thompson in the second half. Good performances from Rooks, Hamilton and man of the Match Stephenson made the tie look convincing, but Blues were battling to the end.
Well done to both teams.
Goals – Hamilton 3, Rooks 3, Stevenson 2 and Steele 1 Man of the Match - Mikey Stephenson.
Carlisle City U7 9 – 1 Carlisle City Reds
Carlisle City produced their best performance of the season in this derby to beat a very good reds team who have shown an incredible improvement since the last time the two teams met.
Some excellent finishing from Lewis Rooks (4) was the biggest difference between the two sides, who produced a great spectacle for U7 football.
City’s defence of White and Steele stood strong all game allowing the skills of Hamilton , Rooks, Irving and Stephenson to show and produce some excellent passing and movement. Goals by Irving 2, Rooks 4, Steele 1, Stephenson 2.
A big shout must go to Reds defence who were very strong and their tackling was near perfect.
MOM – Lewis Rooks – However the whole team should be commended
Carlisle City U7 v Dalston
City continued their good form on Sunday 7th against Dalston. The game was played in great spirit and although the result wasn’t in their favour, Dalston always battled hard and all enjoyed the game.
Scorers – Steele 1, Stephenson 2, Hamilton 2, Irving 2, B Thomson 1, D Thompson 1, White 2
Harraby U7 1 - 8 Carlisle City U7
Saturday afternoon saw the first game between the sides on a heavy pitch at Keenan Park .
Harraby started the better of the two sides with some good passing in difficult conditions, but it was City who scored against the run of play with Lewis Rooks scoring from a tight angle.
From then on City dominated with some excellent passing and quick attacking football. Lewis Rooks completed his hatrick quickly with Man of the Match (1) Ellis Hamilton providing great wing play and crossing for Rooks to finish. City’s overall strength in position ensured a comfortable win, but Harraby were as expected very dogged and put City under pressure for periods, but White and Steele at the back held firm.
Goals from White Irving and Thompson ensured the win with a consolation from Harrabys centre forward who was excellent.Goals Joe White – 2 Jaymi Irving - 2 Lewis Rooks – 3 Ben Thomson - 1 MOM – Jaymi Irving & Ellis Hamilton – Couldn’t separate the two, both were exceptional in all departments. Next Game – Thursday v Dalston ALL WEATHER SHEEPMOUNT
Sat 30th January
Carlisle City U7 9 – 1 Newlaithes
On a frosted pitch City managed to squeeze this game on, but kept it to 10 mins each way.
It was Newlaithes first game in 2 months and City took advantage, in a one sided affair. Newlaithes goalkeeper made some terrific saves during the game saving well from Steele, Irving and White, but the goals were never far away.
Well done to both teams on a difficult pitch. The game was played in fantastic spirit.
Goals – Roan Steele, Jaymi Irving (2), Lewis Rooks (2), Ellis Hamilton (2) & Mikey Stephenson (2)

Carlisle City 5 v 0 Carlisle City Whites
Due to lack of football over last 5 weeks the City sides decided to ensure the boys got some football and played their missed league fixture on the Sheepmount artificial pitch.
The game was played in good spirit by the two City U7’s, on what was a very cold night.
City, being used to the fast surface played very well while attacking for most of the game, however a big commendation must be given to Whites goalkeeper and defenders for some great saves and tackles. Goals by Ellis Hamilton, Joe White, Lewis Rooks, Roan Steele and Jaymi Irving proved a little two strong, but the boys were all grateful for just being able to play.
Man Of Match – Roan Steele – Ran the midfield and broke up their attacks quickly and provided the forwards with some great throughballs.

OLDER REPORTS HERE
Carlisle City started very brightly against Morton yesterday afternoon. Some good passing and movement put City on the front foot, with Ellis Hamilton and Roan Steele going close. After 6 minutes a poor clearance from the Morton goalkeeper fell to Jayme Irving who coolly lobbed the keeper from 15 yards. The next 8 minutes were tight with both teams tackling well but in the last minute of the first half after 4 corners from City Ellis Hamilton calmly slotted home.
Morton Manor came out quickly in the second half and created a couple of half chances and looked more composed on the ball and some good defending from Joe White and Sam Davidson stopped Manor getting back into the game. After 6 minutes of the second half City got a free kick just in side Manor half and Jayme Irving struck past of a host of players.
This took the wind out of Manor and City had more space and created a host of chances with Roan Steele, Ben Thomson and Jayme Irving narrowly missing. A low cross by Jayme Irving was back heeled in by Ben Thomson, Ellis Hamilton scored with a one on one before a nice goal from 15yards for Manor, which was well deserved for all their hard work. On the final whistle Joe white made a 20 yard run and fin___i____shed well in the top corner.
This was a good game, hard fought by two teams.
Scorers – Jayme Irving (2), Ellis Hamilton (2), Ben Thomson & Joe White
Man Of The Match – Roan Steele – Excellent performance in midfield, breaking up the play and selfless running for the team.
