Senior squad 09/10

TOP ROW- From the left-


Joe Blaylock- Midfield- Hard-working central midfield player who rejoins City for the 2009/10 season, after spending a couple of years at Penrith.

Carl Armstrong- Defence/midfield- a long-serving member of the club, who came back into the fold in January 2009

Stuart Hill- Centre-half- A tall commanding central defender who joined City from Annan Athletic early in 2009. He has also played for Queen of the South.

Steven Rooke- Full-back- Steven started the 2008/9 season as a regular member of the side but did not feature as the season progressed. His career saw him begin at Carlisle United before moving to Gretna and Penrith.

Tom Short- Left back- Tom joined City during the pre-season, after leaving Annan Athletic, where he showed promise in their reserve side.

Chris Major- Striker- Age 22- Another to join the club during pre-season. Opened his goal-scoring account with a close-range strike at Whitehaven AFC in a friendly match.

SECOND ROW-  From the left-

Jamie Heath- Midfield/striker- Ended the 2008/9 season as the club's leading scorer in his first season at City. Began his career with Carlisle United and also played Alliance football with Penrith United.

Tom Foster- Centre-half- a player who started with City as a junior, and was voted Player of the year for the 2008/9 season. Very dependable and an excellent defender.

Giuseppe Amato- Left back- a long-serving club member, who is comfortable playing anywhere down the left side of the field.

James Burton- Striker- A hard-working forward who creates chances for others with his selfless approach.

Jonny Coulthard- Winger- A pacy right-sided player who graduated through City's youth teams.

Steven Bell- Striker- A tall, powerful centre-forward who has lots of Alliance experience with City, as well as previous clubs Harraby Catholic and Northbank.

Adam Bradley- Keeper- Joined City half-way through the 2008/9 season, and was a revelation between the sticks. Adam was an apprentice at Carlisle United and, by popular consent, was deemed unlucky to be released.

THIRD ROW- From the left-

Mike Holliday- Midfield- A combative midfielder, who can also play up-front. Started his career with Northbank, and gives 100% in everything he does.

Jordan English- Keeper- made an excellent Alliance debut at Cramlington Town in the 2008/9 season, when he produced some outstanding saves. He is also gaining valuable experience with City's County League side.

Jonathan Simpson- Midfield- Was involved in the majority of the Alliance games during the 2008/9 season, in his energetic role from midfield.

Calvin Rowell- Midfield/striker- A member of City's under 16s team in season 2008/9, Calvin is already pushing for a place in the senior side. He shows blistering pace, with good crossing ability and a sharp eye for goal.

Dan Barclay- Centre-half- A strong, energetic player who is a good striker of the ball, and a threat from set-pieces.

James Yallop- Left back/centre-half-a tall defender with a fine left foot, James joined the club shortly after the start of the 2008/9 season. He scored a candidate for goal of the season last year at Peterlee, with a shot from his own half.

Brendan Napier- Midfield- just joined the club in pre-season. Has previously played his football in Scotland, including a spell with East Fife and junior side Star Hearts AFC.
