NORTHERN ALLIANCE ROUND-UP
The top eight sides in the Premier division are separated by just six points following yesterday's results. Heaton Stannington's 4-2 defeat at home to Hebburn Reyrolle was their second consecutive loss, whilst Hebburn have now won seven of their last eight league games. Whitley Bay A won 2-1 at Seaton Delaval to stay in the picture, but Shankhouse and Ashington Colliers were both surprisingly beaten, by Percy Main and Blyth Town respectively. The table is here.
In the Cumberland Cup quarter-final, Harraby Catholic Club needed penalties to beat Westmorland League Penrith Rangers, after the game ended 1-1 after extra-time.
COUNTY LEAGUE POINT
City drew 1-1 at home to Mirehouse yesterday. A young side was supplemented by coach Andy Walker for the last ten minutes as a substitute.

CITY SLUMP AT HOME AGAIN
City made it three home games without a win as they lost 3-1 to Hebburn Reyrolle today, in a match played on Northbank's senior pitch. City were two goals down in the first 19 minutes before Carl Murphy's wind-assisted corner brought them back into it after 32 minutes. A fairly even second period was decided after 83 minutes when Sweeney scored Hebburn's third goal. The match report is here.
SENIOR PITCH IN NEED OF INTENSIVE CARE
City's senior pitch at the Sheepmount was walked this morning by club officials, and it is in a sorry state. To admittedly untrained eyes, it looks as if it should be rested for the remainder of the season. Thankfully, today's game against Hebburn Reyrolle will go ahead on the Northbank senior pitch at the Sheepmount.
Arrangements for the next few weeks will need urgent attention.
