WEEKEND PREVIEW
City's senior side hope to play their first home game for 11 weeks tomorrow, against Walker Central (k.o. 2.00). City won 2-1 at Walker earlier in the season but they will be without the suspended Robbie Mather tomorrow.
In the Ken Glover Memorial shield, City travel to Cockermouth (k.o. 1.30). This is a repeat of the opening league game of the season when City won 3-1.

European Cup-winning full-back Alan Kennedy is main speaker at City's event tonight at Upperby Institute. He will be joined by Manchester comedian Brian Sharpe.

CITY OUT OF WHITEHAVEN CUP
City lost 3-2 at Windscale Reserves on Saturday in the Whitehaven cup. The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes but City lost out in extra-time.
The most notable result in County League division 1 was St Bees Reserves' 5-3 victory over their own first team!
1984 PROGRAMME
We are delighted to be able to auction a copy of the official UEFA programme from the 1984 European Cup final between Liverpool and Roma. We will ask Alan Kennedy to sign this on Friday.
UNDER 7s & 8s REPORTS
Match reports from the under 7s and under 8s are now on-line. The two sides are guests at Brunton Park tonight as Carlisle United play Tranmere.
ONLY ONE ALLIANCE GAME
The only Alliance game to beat the weather yesterday saw Harraby Catholic Club win 3-1 against Ashington Colliers, with goals from Combe, Anderton & D. Armstrong. The Gillford Park pitch resembled the City pitch prior to Xmas, at the end of the game.
WEEKEND PROSPECTS
The prospects of any football this weekend are probably quite slim given the prevailing weather conditions. In the Northern Alliance, City are scheduled to travel to Shankhouse (k.o. 2.00) and they will be without the suspended Robbie Mather, but Stuart Kilgour should be fit to return.
In the JJ Club Whitehaven cup, City travel tomorrow to Windscale Reserves (k.o. 1.30). The name of the Egremont-based side is probably slightly misleading as their first team no longer plays, and the "reserves" have only lost once all season.
FEET 4 FOOTBALL
We have been notified of coaching classes being put on by David Ballantyne, a Newcastle United Academy coach. Aimed at 6-12 year olds, the sessions will be held in Carlisle. More details can be found here.
JUNIOR FOOTBALL FESTIVAL
Our festival website is now up and running and will be regularly updated. Applications forms for the festival, on 26th & 27th May, may be downloaded from the site.
SUSPENSION FOR CITY PLAYER
City's Robbie Mather will miss Saturday's game at Shankhouse as he serves a one-match ban following his sending-off at Heaton Stannington in the semi-final of the Challenge cup.
There is a change of official for Saturday's game as referee Gary McMullan has been replaced by Stuart Watts.
GAMES FROZEN OFF
Both the Alliance and County League games today have been postponed due to frozen pitches, and all youth games have also been cancelled.
City's senior squad have arranged a friendly against Gillford Park on the 3G pitch at Caldew, k.o. 1.00
YOUNG CITY PLAYERS AT BRUNTON PARK
City's under 7s and 8s are guests of Carlisle United Football in the Community for next Tuesday's game with Tranmere Rovers. We hope that they enjoy their night.
GOOD WORKOUT ON 3G
City and Gillford Park braved the icy conditions yesterday to play a full-scale friendly on 3G at Caldew school. City won the game 2-1 with goals from Andy Rogerson (assisted by the overhead wire) and Stuart Kilgour. Photos from the game are here.
The sign pictured right is being attached to the pitch-side barrier at the Sheepmount, and there is still plenty of space for other companies to have their signs.
MONTHLY DRAW WINNER
The £100 winner for January is number 170- Raymond Swailes
WEEKEND PREVIEW
Weather permitting, City hope to entertain Gateshead Rutherford in the Northern Alliance tomorrow (k.o. 2.00). Obviously, there is a doubt over the game given the cold conditions this week and we will update the details as soon as possible.
In the County League tomorrow, City are scheduled to be at Workington Red House (k.o. 2.00). This should be a close game with City just one point behind their 3rd-placed hosts.
CLUB MESSAGE BOARD
The club message board is still up and running, and indeed springing back to life after a quiet period. The board is open to all and can be found here.
WINTER WEAR STILL ON SALE
Remember that we still have woolly hats and scarves on sale, to keep you warm through this cold spell. Visit our shop here.
JOSH DOWNHAM
Everyone at Carlisle City was deeply saddened to hear of the death of 19 year-old Josh Downham in a road accident on Saturday. Josh played in defence for City from under 11s to under 16s. His coach was current 1st team manager Steve Bellas who said yesterday "Josh was a nice young man who was a credit to his family. The news is so very sad. "
We offer our support and condolences to Josh's family and friends.
VOLUNTEERS FOR AFTER-SCHOOL CLUB
We are looking for volunteers who will assist us to run an after-school football club at Kingmoor. This will begin after the half-term break. Please contact us if you are interested.
ALLIANCE ROUND-UP
Three games in the Premier division beat the frosty conditions yesterday. Harraby Catholic Club surrendered a long unbeaten record as they lost 4-2 at Hebburn Reyrolle, who have a fearsome home record. Murton are in danger of being cut-off at the bottom after losing 3-2 at Blyth Town. The other game saw a 1-1 draw between Percy Main and Rutherford. The table is here.
