City lose a controversial game 3-0 at Percy Main
CITY LOSE A CONTROVERSIAL GAME
City were beaten 3-0 at Percy Main in the Northern Alliance yesterday, but were left seething by a string of controversial refereeing decisions. The home side's second goal was a penalty, when the initial contact was some distance outside the area. City were denied a blatant penalty themselves in the second half, when Mather was tripped in the area. The referee's day was complete when he over-ruled an offside flag to allow Ewart to hesitatingly run on and score the third goal. The match report is here.
