"Update from yesterday we played away against top of the league Abbeytown.... got beat 3-1, but played the best 90 minutes of football by far this season and each and every player ran, tackled and battled for the whole match. They passed it first half with ease, playing some lovely attacking football. I was very impressed.
We went 1-0 up just before half time after out playing our opponents in the first half. Alice Simpson was the scorer. We let in a soft goal to make it 1-1, going in even at half time but having more possession of the ball and even managing to hit the cross bar.... their keeper kept them in it first half.
Second half we battled well, everyone gave 100% and I couldnt fault them. Another soft goal led them going 2-1 up, this however didnt deter our ladies, they stuck to the task well, defended and attacked, only to let in a third. Not what they deserved at all.....
The score did not reflect the game, and as their manager said at the end it could have gone either way......
We are at home on Sunday in the League Cup v Crown Newlaithes, wont have a full strength team as am missing my captain and striker, but yesterday will have given the girls so much confidence......
