LONGHORN LEAGUE FINALS DAY 2009
We were supposed to play Penrith in the quarter finals but I received a text from Simon Savage to say he didn't know he was supposed to be playing until yesterday and wouldn't be able to make it! So we got a bye into the semi's.
We played Abbeytown in the semis who beat us 3 - 0 (which we were expecting!) but the girls still came off smiling having thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to play at Brunton Park! I think we were the only girls team not to have any tears!!!

UPDATE POSTED 31st MARCH 2009
We played Newlaithes at home on the 15th March, this was our first game since November!!! We took a beating that day! We were only 1 nil down at half time and ended 12 - 0 !!! Not sure what happened there!!
We played Harraby Catholic the following week at the Sheepmount, this was an away game again we played some excellent football in the first half but tired in the second! We were beat
6 - 1!!!
Today we played Northbank at the Sheepmount (our home game) and WON!!!!! yes we actually won!!!!! 2-1 to us!! Both goals were scored by todays captain and striker Caitlin Blacklock! The first was scored within the first 10 seconds after kickoff, caught their defence and keeper totally off guard! Their goal came in the second half to equalise then Caitlin took on the defence to find the back of the net yet again scoring the winning goal. The last 5 minutes were very tense with their striker breaking through a couple of times but Bethany Meldrum our one and only defender did an excellent job in fending them off!
All the girls put in a tremendous amount of effort and all deserved Girl of the game!
